Denim is a man’s best friend, and has been since the invention of them in the late 1870s. Denim looks great on everyone, however not all love the fabric, colour or fit. I believe that everyone should invest in at least 3 key denim pieces that will not only give you a casual cool look, but will also work seamlessly into your wardrobe.

1. Dark Denim Jeans Light

Dark denim washed jeans are a great staple to have in your wardrobe because of their versatility and colour. A wash of dark denim allows you to wear them casually or to a smart-casual event. They work well against shirts of all colours and styles. The key to choosing the right pair of denim is to understand what fit of jeans suit you best. Once you nail the fit, the colour is what comes next which.

2. Light Denim Jeans Light

Right after you invest in a pair of dark denim jeans, you should really look at grabbing a pair of light washed denim jeans. A wash of light denim are more casual and works great for hanging out during the day to lunch or shopping. Light wash denim comes in a variety of different shades using bleaching techniques to make different wash patterns and designs. Again, the fit is everything so once you choose the perfect fit for your shape, all that’s left is choosing the right wash of jean.

3. Chambray Shirt

Chambray shirts are so versatile. You can dress them up or down, leave them buttoned up or undone. Chambray shirts are great for all seasons of the year and work especially well in spring. These nifty shirts come in a range of different washes, just like denim jeans, and a variety of colours as well. A key feature to chambray shirts are their contrasting white buttons which stand out against the blue wash of the shirt.
